Police are investigating after the windows of a car parked on Blacks Road in west Belfast were smashed in the early hours of January 18.

Three men were involved in the 2.45am incident which police are treating as a “hate crime”.

UUP west Belfast spokesman Bill Manwaring met with the Blacks Road resident who said this was the “seventh such attack on her car and home in the last two years”.

“The vandals who broke this resident’s windscreen and slashed her tyres, also scraped the letters ‘LDK’ onto the bonnet, which I have been informed stands for ‘Lenadoon Dog Killers’ - a gang of youths who are mindless enough to feel such attacks are acceptable,” he said. “This type of sectarian victimisation must be condemned as loudly and robustly as any racist, homophobic or other type of bigoted attack.”
