Suspicous object taken away after security alert

Police are currently in the Drumtarsey Road area of Coleraine following a report of a suspicious object in the area this evening. The Drumtarsey Road is currently closed in both directions & a number of properties have been evacuated. A suspicious object had been discovered in the Drumtarsey Road area on Thursday evening.

A number of homes were evacuated.

A police spokesperson said the object has now been taken away for further examination and the area has reopened.
