Teen sustains ‘very serious facial injuries’ in gang assault - PSNI appeal for information

A 14-year-old has sustained serious facial injuries in a gang attack in a NI town.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and information following the report of an assault on two male youths - aged 14 and 17 - in Randalstown on Saturday night.

The assault happened in the Neillsbrook Park area at approximately 9.30pm.

The youths were assaulted by a number of unknown men. The 17-year-old sustained minor injuries.

Detectives are currently working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.

Detective Inspector Boyd said: “This was an extremely vicious attack with one of the youths sustaining very serious injuries.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault on the two youths or who saw a group of men going about the town to contact detectives at Antrim on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1574 28/11/20, or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
