Two men have been arrested after a delivery van was hijacked in the Ladybrook area of west Belfast on Saturday morning.

Around 6.35am, the driver was approached by a number of males who threatened him with a knife.

They forced him to hand over the keys of the van before driving off in it.

The vehicle was later spotted by police in Mount Alverno and pursued. Two men, aged 19 and 31 were subsequently detained in the Glenside Road area of the city and the van has been seized for examination.

Anyone who can assist the police investigation has been asked to call the non-emergency number 101.
