One man had travelled from Germany to be by Pastor James McConnell’s side during his court hearing on Thursday.
Sharply-dressed 43-year-old Christian Rabanus, an attorney, said: “It wasn’t a big deal for me – I really felt that he needed some support.”
As he spoke, the pastor himself spotted him and put his arm around his shoulder.
The pastor said: “His dad and me made a trip to the Iron Curtain, and smuggled Bibles into the Iron Curtain and money.”
“Really?” replied Christian. “You never told me!”
The pastor had pledged to defend the Gospel after the latest court hearing.
