Volley of shots fired at police officers in Andersonstown

Two PSNI officers escaped injury when a number of shots were fired at their vehicle in west Belfast on Thursday evening.

The incident took place in the Rossnareen Avenue area of Andersonstown around 6.50pm.

Police say they believe up to eight shots were directed at the officers who were conducting enquiries in connection with a previous serious incident.

The vehicle was stationary at the time of the shooting.

There are no reports of any other injuries.
