A security alert on the outskirts of west Belfast has ended with the suspicious object being declared an elaborate hoax.
Army technical officers had been called to examine the scene at Colinbrook Park shortly before 11am on Wednesday.
Several homes were evacuated during the police operation. The area was declared safe around 3pm.
A PSNI spokesman said: “ATO attended and carried out a controlled explosion on a suspicious object. This has now been declared as a hoax and the remains have been taken away for further examination. All residents are now able to return to their homes.”
