Woman arrested after man stabbed

A 45-year-old woman has been arrested after a 57-year-old man was stabbed in the Conway Street area of north Belfast just after 2.50am on Sunday. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators believe the man may have been stabbed at a house in the Wilton Street area.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Madden has appealed for witnesses to come forward.

“I would ask anyone who saw this man in the Wilton Street and Conway Street areas, or who knows anything about this incident, to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101,” he said.

“ Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
