The motorcyle fraternity is mourning the death of Milton Thom.

The well-known Cookstown hotelier passed away in the early hours of Thursday.

He had been a road racing supporter for more than four decades and a long-time sponsor of the Cookstown 100.

Back in 2008 he was left fighting for his life after being turned into a human fireball after a horrific motorbike smash at the Skerries 100 meeting.

Owner of the Royal Hotel in Cookstown, Mr Thom was a highly respected businessman in the town.

His funeral is on Saturday at 1.00pm in Derryloran Parish Church.
