Death toll of people with COVID-19 in NI now 418 - see a breakdown of deaths by council area

The Department of Health this afternoon reveal that 418 people have died in NI after testing positive for COVID-19.

They say that three people died ‘within the current reporting period’ while another 11 deaths happened but not within the current reporting period.

The report from the Department of Health breaks down the deaths into Local Government Area’s -

Belfast - 127

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon - 46

Lisburn and Castlereagh - 37

Mid and East Antrim - 30

Newry, Mourne and Down - 28

Causeway Coast and Glens - 27

Ards abd North Down - 25

Mid Ulster - 23

Derry City and Strabane - 20

Fermanagh and Omagh - 10

Not Known - 10

The figures released today also reveal that so far there have been 33,395 laboratory confirmed tests for COVID-19.

The number of individuals with a positive laboratory confirmed test is 3,934.

And the number of COVID suspected/confirmed inpatients in NI is 699.

The number of ICU patients with COVID suspected/confirmed in NI is now 24.

The figures also reveal that only one person has died with the virus in the 20-years to 39-years age group.

Meanwhile 17 people in the 40-years to 59years age group has died.

Another 128 people have died in the 60-years to 78-years age group But 271 people in the 80-years and over have died.
