DUP dismisses UUP Brexit '˜vision' as '˜uncosted wish list'

DUP MP Gavin Robinson said: “The Ulster Unionist Party’s ‘vision’ for Northern Ireland is a mish-mash of uncosted ideas that makes Jeremy Corbyn look like a role model of effective opposition.

“It is not a plan for Northern Ireland. It is a wish-list without any proposals as to how they might be achieved.

“The document contains the same lack of detail as we have about the UUP’s Brussels ‘fact-finding’ trip, and in particular how it was paid for.

“Mike Nesbitt appears to have decided to make financial illiteracy the new hallmark of UUP policy.

“They expect all EU funding to be protected, a trebling of infrastructure spending, a £1billion venture capital fund and increased research and development spending all trip off the tongue, but there is absolutely no detail on how these would be funded, except for a glib demand that Westminster should pay.”
