The overall winner will receive a specially commissioned award designed by glass artist Helen Harty, which is based on the Coleraine town logo.

Coleraine Town Team Chairperson Ian Donaghey, said: “Every year businesses within the town centre pull out all the stops to make their windows as festive as possible.

“This is the first year that the Town Team have organised this competition and we already know that choosing the winner will be a very difficult decision.

“The Town Team are delighted to have local craft producers designing a bespoke award for the winners, which is a fitting way to recognise their own creative efforts.”

Julienne Elliott, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Economic Development Officer, added: “I was delighted to ask Helen Harty to design this award, which is a beautiful glass version of the Coleraine town logo.

“The finishing touches will be added by Janet Millar from Kiso Arts. Both crafters are previous participants of the Journey to Market Programme and to date their businesses have flourished thanks to the support offered through this business development initiative.

“I am sure the winner of the Christmas Window Competition will proudly display this piece of local art work within their premises.”

There is no need to formally enter the competition and retailers must have their displays finished ahead of the judging day, which takes place on Thursday, December 1st.
