Tributes have been paid to a Newtownabbey soldier who died at an army barracks in England last week.
Private Darren Leslie was found in a critical condition at the St David’s Barracks in Bicester, Oxfordshire on Friday, September 4.
Attempts were made to resuscitate the 28-year-old but he later died. Investigations are ongoing but his death is not believed to be suspicious.
In a statement, his family said he had been “immensely proud” of joining the Royal Logistic Corps.
He had been born in Liverpool, and served in Afghanistan in 2014.
His troop commander called him “intelligent and highly-motivated”.
