A woman who was killed in a road accident on Friday night had been on her way to worship at the time, the News Letter understands.
The victim of the fatal crash was struck by a lorry on North Street, Lurgan, while en route to visit St Peter’s chapel.
It is thought that she may have been disembarking a car when a lorry struck her, and that she died at the scene.
It is believed that she was aged in her 60s.
SDLP Craigavon councillor Joe Nelson said: “Obviously, it’s a very traumatic time for the family of the lady in question.
“Lurgan, that part of it, is a very tight-knit community, and there’d be a lot of people affected by it. We’d just wish the family circle all our deepest sympathies.”
