A British Airways flight from Belfast City Airport to London Heathrow was forced to divert shortly after take-off on Tuesday night after the pilot declared an emergency.
The plane, which had 108 passengers on board, turned and headed to Belfast International Airport at Aldergrove, around 15 miles away.
The aircraft circled Aldergrove for a period before landing safely.
BA said the diversion was a “precautionary measure” taken in response to a “technical issue”.
“The safety of our customers and crew are always a priority,” said a spokeswoman for the airline.
“The flight landed normally after diverting shortly after take-off as a precaution following a technical issue.
“Cabin crew are now looking after our customers and they will be offered hotel accommodation and rebooked onto flights tomorrow.”
