Four bailed after being held on suspicion of attempted murder

Police said on Friday morning that four men had been arrested the previous night on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm.

It follows an incident in Blythe Street off Sandy Row in south Belfast on Wednesday.

Police had received a report at around 11.15pm of three men in the area dressed in black, wearing balaclavas, with one armed with a firearm.

No gunfire was reported to police

On Thursday evening, police arrested four men aged 40, two aged 41, and another aged 44 on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm.

They were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
