The funeral of a seven-year-old boy who died following a car crash in Co Antrim last weekend is to take place on Saturday.

Jackson Turner, a pupil at Sunnylands Primary School in Carrickfergus, passed away in hospital following the collision involving three cars on the Old Carrick Road, Newtownabbey on Boxing Day.

Jackson’s funeral will take place in Carrickfergus on Saturday at noon before moving to Roselawn Cemetery for committal at 2pm.

The family have asked for donations in lieu of flowers to be made to the Children’s ICU at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

“Your love is always with us,” the family said.

“Your place no one can fill, in life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.”
