Road users are being warning of possible hazardous conditions on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning as temperatures drop below freezing.

A spokesman for the DRD’s road service said: “There is a risk of ice and frost on roads as well as the risk of snow showers. Showers of snow are likely to settle around 300m, with a small risk of settling at 200m in any heavy showers.”

Plans are in place to salt roads on the scheduled network considered to be at risk, but road users have been advised exercise caution when travelling.
