Sadness has been voiced on the north coast following death of toddler Jay Quigley.

The one-year-old from Portstewart died on Friday morning. He had a rare form of leukaemia (namely, primary refractory acute megakaryoblastic leukaemia).

Jay had been taken to England in a last ditch attempt at saving his life. The treatment did not work.

Messages of support had flooded in for Jay’s parents, Fiona and Robert, via their Facebook page ‘Jay Quigley – the smiling superhero’.
