The Commissioner for Older People has hailed the decision of the Belfast health trust to reverse planned cuts to homecare for the elderly.

Roughly 550 stood to be affected by plans to axe shopping and other services, until this was scrapped on Monday.

Commissioner Claire Keatinge said the planned cuts “caused fear and distress for many older people”.
