In Pictures: Travel disruption as snowfall hits Northern Ireland

There has been transport disruption across the Province as a result of the snowfall.

At Belfast International Airport, flights were delayed after workers were dispatched to clear the runway of snow for around 45 minutes from 7.30am onwards.

No flights were cancelled, but aircraft were understood to have been circling overhead until it re-opened, leading to knock-on delays.

A UK-wide problem with BT also temporarily led to no flight information being displayed on the airport’s website.

The weather in Edinburgh and Manchester resulted in a small number of delays and cancellations at George Best Airport.

On the ground, NIR services currently operating as normal, however Botanic station was closed due to an earlier incident.

There were no Ulsterbus/Goldline services operating in rural Armagh, while in Coleraine and Londonderry all services are operating on main roads only.

On Metro routes, there are diversions in place at locations across Belfast.
