Injured motorbike racer Ryan Farquhar has posted a picture of his torso online, showing a gigantic scar.
Dungannon man Mr Farquhar was seriously injured in a crash at the North West 200 race on May 12.
By May 27, the News Letter had reported that he had been moved out of the intensive care unit at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital, and that his condition is now being described as “stable”.
A few days later, he had written in the News Letter: “Whenever you come so close to death twice, I’m just so thankful that somebody was looking over me and I’m blessing my lucky stars that I’m alive.”
The News Letter asked if the “pipe” he is writing about has now been removed intentionally because his condition is improving, or whether it had come out accidentally.
He responded: “No, it came out itsself. All seems to be ok, and is a little bit more comfortable without it.
“Still long road to get back to being fit!”
