Irish foreign minister Charlie Flanagan has announced a raft of commemorations for the 1916 Easter Rising based on the UK mainland.
His ministry said at least 87 events would take place in Great Britain to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the pre-independence rebellion, ranging from Manchester and Newcastle to the Irish Embassy in London.
In a statement he said: “This is an exciting and busy programme. It offers an occasion to reflect on what happened in Ireland a century ago and on its impact on relationships on these islands.”
