Top honour for Ian

His wife, Beverley is also holding the MBE which she was awarded in the New Years Honours list in 2012 (for her work with the Trading Standards Service in Northern Ireland.) From young love to a fairytale proposal
Portadown couple Aaron Gray and Kristy Simpson first met when they were just 11 years old, and remained close friends throughout their lives.
However they only officially got together as a couple three years ago - but earlier this year, 28-year-old joiner Aaron surprised his girlfriend, who is the same age, with a stunning engagement ring that he chose himself - and a marriage proposal.
The pair have been walking on air ever since, and are excitedly planning their wedding, which is set to take place on Friday May 20, 2016.
“Aaron is from Portadown, but lived most of his life in Enniskillen,” said Kristy, who owns popular Portadown shoe and clothing boutique Sitara Morgan.
“I am from India, but I was adopted and I now live in Portadown. We’ve been going out three years and got engaged on February 27.”
We at the News Letter would like to wish Aaron and Kristy all the very best as they plan their Big Day!
*Have you recently got engaged? Please get in touch and send us all the details so we can help you celebrate!
