A 25-year-old man has been arrested by officers investigating the killing of former IRA commander Gerard ‘Jock’ Davison.
He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station for questioning.
Mr Davison was killed as he walked through the republican Markets district where he lived at 9.09am on May 5.
An eastern European kind of handgun called a Makarov was used in the killing – a weapon which is extremely rare in the Province, according to the PSNI.
The 25-year-old man was arrested in Belfast.
Police said his arrest is linked to the “overall investigation”.
