Man being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the discovery of a man with serious injuries in north Belfast.

A 24-year-old was discovered at a flat in Ross House, Mount Vernon, at around 11.10am on Monday December 28.

The 29-year-old was arrested in the city on Friday night on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Mark McHaffie said earlier this week: “We are working hard to establish exactly what happened and we are keen to hear from anyone with information that could assist our investigation, in particular anyone who was in the vicinity of Ross House from midnight to midday on Monday 28th December 2015, and who saw or heard anything that could assist.”
