Man denies causing woman's death by dangerous driving

A Co Antrim man on Thursday denied causing the death by dangerous driving of a woman who lost her life following a two-car collision in Carrickfergus.

Neill McKee, 26, appeared at Belfast Crown Court where he denied a charge of causing the death of Heather Steele by dangerous driving on August 27, 2014.

Ms Steele, 53, who was from the Carrick area, died as a result of a collision on the town’s Belfast Road.

When the charge was put to McKee, from Castleburn Road in Carrick, he replied, “not guilty”.

He was also charged with driving a Seat Leon with no insurance on the Belfast Road in Carrick on the same date.

To his charge, he replied, “guilty”.

The case will be listed at the same court for review on April 21, with a provisional trial date set as August 16.
