Man dies in Co Down crash

A 36-year-old man has died following a crash involving two cars in Co Down on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at Magheraknock Road, Ballynahinch at about 7.30pm last night.

A man aged 32 remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A five-ear-old girl was also injured but is in a stable condition.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.

Police at Lisburn are appealing for information.

Inspector Barney O’Connor said investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the Vauxhall Vectra and Ford Focus cars before the collision or came across the scene immediately afterwards. The number to call is 101.

The Magheranock Road is likely to remain closed for much of today.
