Man from rural Fermanagh dies in crash


A man in his 30s from Fermanagh has died after a road accident.

Daniel Morris, 37 and from the Brookeborough area, died after the one-vehicle crash on Friday morning.

Inspector Keith McBrien said in a statement: “Daniel was the driver of a silver Audi car involved in a one vehicle collision on the Belfast Road between Fivemiletown and Brookeborough just before 8am this morning.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has any information to assist police with our enquiries to contact officers at the Collision Investigation Unit in Steeple on 101.”

Meanwhile, police issued an appeal for anyone who noticed a diesel spillage on the Strangford Road on Monday to contact them.

At approximately 1pm that day, a fatal road traffic collision occurred in the area, killing, Jack Murnin, 20.

Inspector Mark Peters said: “Police in attendance at this collision observed diesel on the road. I would appeal to anyone who noticed diesel on the Strangford Road, between Quoile Bridge and Strangford, or who can help identify where the spillage came from, to contact officers in Downpatrick or the Collision Investigation Unit in Steeple on 101.”
