Man hurt in Belfast neighbourhood’s second shooting in under a month

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was injured in a “punishment style shooting” in west Belfast.

A man in his 20s was shot in his leg in the Ardmonagh Parade area at 7.40pm on Thursday, the PSNI said.

Ardmonagh Parade (off Norglen Parade, not far from the Springfield Road) is a fairly small cul-de-sac-style street containing flats and terraced houses.

This is the second shooting in the area in less than a month.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Woodbourne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

Or they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
