Man in court after £90,000 drugs seizure

A 29-year-old man is appearing in court today after the seizure of £90,000 worth of drugs in Co Down yesterday.

The man has been charged with possessing a class C controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a class C controlled drug, being concerned in the supply of a class C controlled drug and possessing criminal property.

He is expected to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court today (Saturday).

He has been charged by detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch investigating the importation of controlled drugs into Northern Ireland have charged a man with a number of offences.

The charges are thought to be in connection with the seizure of £90,000 worth of Zopiclone and Diazepam tablets after police stopped a car in the Green Road area of Conlig on Friday.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS
