Four masked men armed with hammers threatened a woman during a burglary in Belfast night.

The men caused damage to the bathroom in the house in the Moyard Parade area of west Belfast and smashed a number of windows.

They forced their way into the house shortly and threatened the female occupant before causing damage.

The woman, aged in her 30’s was not injured but was left shaken. Another woman and a three-year-old boy who were also in the house at the time were uninjured.

The males are all described as wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered. It is believed they made off on foot along Moyard Parade.

Detective Inspector Mark McHaffie is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that would assist with the investigation to contact Detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
