A taxi driver in his 50s who was last seen on Monday November 24 has been discovered dead.
David Dickson, 57 and from Dunmurry, was last seen in the Seymour Hill area of the district at around 8pm on Monday November 24.
He had recently suffered some medical issues, and police described him as a vulnerable person.
On Saturday afternoon, police announced that a body had been found in Barnett Demesne, a south Belfast park, and cancelled the Missing Persons Appeal for him.
A PSNI statement read: “A formal identification has taken place and family have been informed. A post mortem examination is due to take place however at this time police are not treating the death as suspicious.”
Less than 24 hours earlier, his wife Louisa asked the public, and David’s colleagues in the taxi business, to help find him.
She said in a statement on Friday night: “This is not like David, though he has been unwell recently and it is possible that he may have just taken off to be with some friends or to have a think, but our three children and I are really worried about him.”
