Assad is caught in a mercenary war

Our own Peace People have claimed that the Syrian conflict is a “foreign funded and foreign planned attack on the Syrian government” and a proxy war “fuelled by outside intervention and carried out by foreign fighters from over 80 countries” (quoted respectively in reports from visits to Syria in 2014 and 2015). Ironic then, isn’t it, that Assad receives such harsh criticism when the conflict has got nothing to do with a popular uprising although this is normally how the conflict is presented by the popular press. To support such a orchestrated war is to support naked aggression and to condone international terrorism.

Assad is fighting for survival. The so-called “Syrian” rebels are fighting for their 30 pieces of silver, which Western states and their Middle Eastern allies have gleefully donated – along with the arms, the training, and the contextual smokescreen (i.e. the MSM’s input).
