We welcome the fact that Tony Blair has been requested to give evidence to the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee in person.
We travelled to America and spoke to a number of congressmen and senators, and Senator Lautenberg who was dealing on behalf of American victims clearly told us that it was our government that was blocking compensation for British victims and made it clear that Tony Blair was the main instigator behind it.
He said with respect if your own government will not speak up for the British victims why do you think it is up to ourselves meaning the Americans to lobby on our behalf.
He advised me to go back and lobby our own government because the American, German and French governments had secured a deal for their own victims.
It was very hard to answer Senator Lautenberg as clearly he was sympathetic to our cause and would certainly back it but the British government had to take the lead on it.
Tony Blair can sidestep all the questions that he will be asked but he cant sidestep the fact that the American, German and French victims received compensation. How can it be that the UK victims are being ignored?
Tony Blair mentions that this government looked after their victims with compensation for the attacks carried out, tell that to the mother that got £200 for her son that wouldn’t even pay for the coffin, or the woman that got £3500 who had four children under the age of six and was pregnant with another child when her husband was killed.
It is an insult for him to suggest that compensation was given as if in some way they had properly looked after the victims in the United Kingdom.
Just in case he doesn’t realise it the Americans were also compensated by the airline and the French people were also compensated by their government as were the Germans.
Support would be welcome from all areas but we would ask certain individuals especially Tony Blair to stop treating the innocent victims as fools as we now know what went on we just need someone like Al-Senussi to step up to the mark and confirm it.
We intend to visit Libya and also Qatar to speak to certain individuals regarding what went on between the IRA, Gaddafi and certain governments.
We thank the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee and the other MPs and Lords and also our legal team for the good work they are doing.
This is not just about money this is about justice and getting to the truth behind Gaddafi sponsored IRA terrorism.
Along with our legal team we are now into 15 years of fighting to get justice and if it takes another 15 years so be it.
