It is a disgrace that Christians were persecuted in Ashers case

It is an utter disgrace that a Christian couple has been persecuted and prosecuted for refusing to bake a cake that bore a message that was contrary to their faith.

And what is more, the pro homosexual slogan they refused to produce, is actually against the laws of Northern Ireland!

I do wonder if a Muslim had refused to print a message which was offensive to Islam would he have been taken to court. I’d very much doubt it.

And if the bakers had been asked to promote something else illegal under Northern Ireland law, wouldn’t they have been at risk of prosecution for doing so?

Sadly it is indicative of the perverse logic rampant in Western society today, where supposed equality legislation is increasingly being used as a weapon to attack decent people and their values.
