If you are not for the Union you are against it

The weakness of Alex Kane’s logic in his Monday column is not surprising in the light of his history of favouring the 1998 Belfast Agreement.

(The column can be read here: ‘Unionism needs to do more than just hang in,’ July 20)

He writes “...the general view would be both parties (Alliance and Greens) are probably neutral on the Union...”

Quite simply the Alliance Party do not advocate a unionist position re the Union.

The reality is that Alliance have refused to advocate a vote for the Union in a referendum and thus per se are anti the Union and on the whole they should really be considered as closet nationalists.

‘Those who are not for me are against me’.
