Much rejoicing over halt to abortion barbarism

We hope that every other health trust in NI will follow suit and close every immoral killing clinic within their corridors.

Last year the British Government imposed on Northern Ireland the most sinister, cruel and extreme piece of abortion legislation in the whole of Europe – Section 9 of the Northern Ireland Executive Formation Act 2019 – which meant that a new legal framework for abortion in NI came into force on March 31, 2020.

Up until then the sole purpose of the abortion law in the Province was to protect the mother as well as her unborn child.

Sections 58 and 59 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861 and section 25 of the Criminal Justice Act (NI) 1945 together recognised that the unborn child, at any and every stage of development, was a human being – a person – deserving of protection under the law.

The new law now allows them to be legally murdered. Since March 31, 664 abortions have been carried out under this despicable killing act. MPs at Westminster and MLAs at Stormont seem to be stone-deaf to the silent screams of these 664 innocent babies – who are human beings with a right to life.

God’s Word says in Psalm 139:13-16 that life, from conception, is sacred and precious. All human life is created in God’s image and is intrinsically valuable from conception.

We call on MLAs to repeal, with immediate effect, Section 9 of the Executive Formation Act, and restore full legal protection for unborn babies.
