To stay quiet on legacy and see terrorists rewarded for evil would be a travesty

In Ben Lowry’s article on Saturday June 13 he made the point that he was amazed at the slow response and, seemingly, lack of interest of those in a position to counter the propaganda and rewriting of history by republicans in Northern Ireland.

He points out that there are a few exceptions to this of course who have had their responses published in this paper. But from ex security forces, politicians and even churches it seems that there are those who close their eyes to the injustice that is taking place in Northern Ireland.

To keep republicans on board, it seems that they are being able to call the shots and everyone has to follow, or they may throw their dummies out of their prams.

The churches, including my own denomination, the Presbyterian Church, have buried many congregation members and offered comfort to many members who have been seriously injured by terrorists.

To stay quiet about the unjust legacy proposals, and see terrorists being rewarded for evil, would be a travesty — even the stones will cry out for justice if we keep quiet.
