Unionists are a laughing stock in Europe after some unionist politicians helped GB out of the EU while selling out NI as a full part of UK

Any self-respecting unionist reading the Reg Empey column in Friday’s News Letter should now realise the damage done to the Union by those unionist politicians who have been led a merry dance by Boris Johnson and the Tory government.

I, as a Brexit supporter, believed that we would leave on the same terms as the rest of the United Kingdom.

The Conservative government have capitulated to nationalist/republican Ireland and the European Union.

Unionists are the laughing stock of Europe as we become a vassal state of the EU.

Some of our unionist MPs may continue to lift their salaries, work towards their gold line pensions and who knows — they might even get a place in the House of Lords for helping Great Britain obtain freedom from the EU.

But their legacy will be that they sold out Northern Ireland as a full part of the UK.
