Remove orange from the tricolour
I won’t go into the flag’s colourful history prior to 1916. However, I understand that the orange in the flag represents Protestants living on the island of Ireland in a hoped for united Ireland.
It should be obvious to all, in this day and age, that the unitary aspiration is a non sequitur and this should be faced up to.

Hide AdI suggest, therefore, that the orange in the flag be removed, with a proviso that should Northern Ireland’s Protestants ever freely decide to join the Irish Republic, and if acceptable to all, that the orange be restored to the flag.
