Stop the rude over-reactions to Irish leaders

I do wish that DUP spokespersons would desist from over-reacting and making irritating, indeed rude, statements in response to Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney (Fine Gael) and Micheal Martin (Fianna Fail).

In fact, these particular three men could almost be their allies!

Like so many, they and the two large parties they represent simply detest Sinn Fein, seeing them as the main enemy, with a frightening pedigree. Furthermore, apart from paying it occasional lip service, they – like most normal people in the Republic – are not particularly fussed about a united Ireland.

The concept is rarely discussed.

I know this because I lived and worked there for over 40 years.

Of course, Northern Ireland will have to have some special arrangement to facilitate Brexit, dreadful as it may be.

Having said that, it’s just possible that this “arrangement” could prove to be a huge economic benefit to Northern Ireland.

However that’s democracy, working on behalf of a small majority of closed minded, inward looking, people.
