We already have all-island forums

Concerning the mooted idea of an all-island Brexit forum: Surely we are already coming down with cross border institutions that are more than able to facilitate such discussions without creating another?

We have the North-South Ministerial Council, The British-Irish Council and the British Irish Parliamentary Assembly all of which have already held discussions about Brexit.

The latter two include representatives from around the various legislative bodies across the British Isles and as such would provide a much better setting for unionist engagement in such discussions and avoid duplication as many of the issues affect other parts of the UK.

Despite nationalist politicians in Brexit denial, the referendum question was “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or Leave the European Union?”.

When they put their x in the box, that is the question they were answering – it did not reference constituent parts or regions of the UK.
