Weather or not to wear poppy should be an individual choice

It is not often I agree with Tom Cooper but I have to partly come to his defence re his letter of ('˜Wearing poppies in BBC Northern Ireland undermines the idea of balance,' November 1), regarding the BBC insisting that its frontline staff wear the poppy.

The key word in Mr Cooper’s letter is, ‘insisting’.

No one should be forced to wear the poppy or not to wear it.

It should be left to individual choice and that goes for employees in all organisations both in the public and private sectors.
