An awards ceremony rewarding community work by Orangemen will take place at 7.30pm in Lisburn Island Arts Centre on Friday, January 30.
The annual awards, now in their 10th year, also recognise achievements of those in the marching bands’ fraternity.
Among the prizes are Best New Banner; Best Charity Fundraising Lodge; Individual and Lodge Community Involvement; Musician’s Merit, and a new Sporting Achievement category – plus the Grand Master’s Award.
Dr David Hume, Grand Lodge Director of Services, said: “It is hard to believe that the event has been running for 10 years. The first awards night was in Belfast and since then the event has been throughout the Province, to locations such as Enniskillen, Carrickfergus, Bessbrook, Cookstown, Londonderry, Coleraine, and Newtownabbey.”
Tickets, at £10, can be obtained from the Island Arts Centre on (028)92 509254 or at www.laganvalleyisland.co.uk/events.
