Stunning images of some of the Province’s most notable landscapes feature in the Orange Institution’s calendar for 2016.

Iconic landmarks such as the Spelga Dam, Mussenden Temple, Botanic Gardens and Parliament Buildings are among those given prominence in the latest Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland production.

Scenery from the Republic of Ireland including Mellifont Abbey, Co Louth; Raphoe Castle, Co Donegal and suitably, the Boyne Valley, complete the perfect backdrop for the Loyal Order’s New Year guide.

Grand Lodge Director of Services, Dr David Hume, said: “The calendar utilizes photos taken by members of the Institution who are also keen photographers and we believe they have done justice to the twelve locations in Northern Ireland and the Republic.

“One thing which these locations all have in common is that they have a history. It should be no surprise that there are a few locations with special interest to the Orange Order which feature, but there are others too which are of wider relevance.”

He added: “Each year we have a dedicated following for our calendar and with the opening of our new museums at Loughgall and Belfast this year we have no doubt this will be a very successful publication.”

The 2016 calendar is now available priced £4, from the shop at the Museum of Orange Heritage, Cregagh Road, Belfast, or online via the Grand Lodge website.
