Child airlifted to hospital after tractor collision - emergency services rushed to scene - PSNI appeal for witnesses

According to reports five people including a child were rushed to hospital after a crash involving a tractor and a car.

The emergency services were called to Pharis Road, Armoy.

The incident is understood to have involved a family and was reported around 6.40pm.

Inspector O’Brien said: “We received the report of a collision, involving a car and tractor with its trailer, just after 6.40pm. This was at the Drones Road junction with Pharis Road.

“A child, who was travelling in the car, had to be transported to hospital for treatment to injuries.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed this collision, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1899 of 01/06/20.”

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 6.42 pm on

Monday, 1 June 2020 following reports of a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) at Pharis Road, Armoy.

“NIAS despatched one Doctor, three Rapid Response Paramedics and four Emergency Crews to the scene.

“The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS crew on board were also tasked to the incident.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, five patients were transported Hospital; four patients were transported by Ambulance, two to the

Causeway Hospital and two to Antrim Area Hospital, one patient was also

airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children”.
