Coronavirus NI: Two additional cases confirmed yesterday brings total to 5,859 - find out where the cases are located - no deaths in last 24 hours

No new Covid-19 related deaths were rerecorded in the last 24 hours by the Department of Health in the past 24 hours, leaving total deaths with the virus at 556.

The department’s daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths, where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.

The latest figures on the department’s dashboard also show the total number of confirmed positive cases of the virus now stands at 5,859 - yhis is an increase of two from yesterday.

Today’s Department of Health dashboard shows that the two new cases have been recorded in Causeway Coast and Glens and Mid Ulster council areas.

The biggest increase in cases over the past seven days has occurred in Causeway Coast and Glens council area (22).

The Department of Health dashboard reports that 64 people have now tested positive in the last 7 days.

There are now nine cases of COVID-19 in NI Care Homes - and 15 suspected cases.

Two patients with Covid-19 are currently being treated in intensive care in a Northern Ireland hospital.
