Police in riot gear were forced to respond after trouble broke out in Carrickfergus last night.
Officers went to the scene following reports that a large crowd of males had gathered in the Castlemara estate.
Officers eventually dispersed the crowd and seized a number of items including a crossbow.
Superintendent Emma Bond said: “Reports suggested some of the males were masked and may have been armed with weapons such as hammers.
“A 36-year-old male was arrested and remains in custody this morning.”
