A police manhunt for an individual wanted in connection with a serious assault has been called off after he was apprehended in east Belfast today.
The PSNI have been attempting to find 33-year-old Stephen McFarlane to speak to him about the attack in Carnmoney on Wednesday night.
Just before 2pm today, police detailed Mr McFarlane in the area of the Newtownards Road of east Belfast.
Detective Inspector Chris Millar said: “I would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter. We received a number of calls from members of the public throughout our search and we are grateful for that co-operation. Our investigation into this serious assault will now continue.”
Police had earlier issued an appeal for sightings of a white Audi A6 Black Edition, but warned members of the public not to approach Mr McFarlane.
